$40 Dollar Date #2- Washington DC

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant

Gentlemen, I don’t want to keep all the fly places to take women out a secret. In my years as a professional dater, I have come across many inexpensive spots to go to. The second installment of “40 Dollar Dates.” This one is sure to keep your hard earned money in your pocket, while having a good time. McCormick & Schmick's has a “Bar Menu”- which means you have to sit at the bar or at a table close to the bar. There is a 2 drink minimum. The hours for the "Bar Menu" are M-F 3:30- 7:00 pm, and M-T 10:30-11:30. $ 2 cheeseburger & fries or $4 dollar fish and scallop ceviche are among the selections. So take her here as a warm-up before a movie, or slide through after a work out session. Click here for menu. 1652 K Street NW Washington, D.C. 20006 (202) 861-2233

$40 Dollar Date #1- Washington DC

$40 Dollar Dates-Sky Terrace Restaurant Hotel Washington

Point blank- this is a great spot to go to on a date. It is one of the best dating secrets in DC, and a G4 banger for your first date.

The restaurant is located on the rooftop of the Hotel Washington, located 15th & Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. It’s a real low key spot that not too many people know about. It has a covered roof area, thats great in the Summer on cool nights.

The Sky Terrace has a great view overlooking the White House, so you will get some cool points for picking the place. It is not usually packed and ask for a seat by the rail, so you can fully appreciate the view.

The food on the other hand is mediocre nothing too exceptional. But lucky for you the view makes up for the menu.

My recommendations include the grilled chicken muffaletta ($12) or keep it simple and order the Angus beef burger ($12). A shrimp salad will run you about $18. As long as you steer your date away from more expensive entrées you should be okay (more around the $25 dollar range).

What I would do is invite her out for coffee and dessert. The sky terrace serves a variety of liquor infused coffees. For example, they have a drink called Arreva ($12); it is a mixture of Grand Marnier, Pepper Snaps, Jose Cuervo, fresh coffee- topped with whipped cream. Order two slices of strawberry short cake- and you have your self a $40 date.

The restaurant is open pretty late, however I do believe they stop serving food around midnight or 1am. So, on a night with a full moon, the night is yours- please don’t mess up. My advice is listen intently and tilt your head so the moonlight hits your eyes and gives it that dreamy effect. She will think highly of you for picking this spot, instead of taking her to Fridays. I guarantee you will be the first dude that takes her here on a date.
